Eleutherococcus
Eleutherococcus is native to North Eastern Asia and is often referred to as Siberian Ginseng or eleuthero. It has been widely used in Eastern countries including Russia and China as an adaptogen.
The active ingredients in Eleutherococcus are called eleutherosides. Recently, Western medicine has also recognized the adaptogenic benefits of this herb. Alfred Vogel learned to value Eleutherococcus whilst working with local practitioners in Russia and on his return to his own clinic in Switzerland added it to his extensive herbal dispensary.
Eleutherococcus may also be found in the A.Vogel product Ginsavena tincture - a combination of Eleutherococcus and Avena sativa.
