A combination of herbs shown to have antiinflammatory properties.
Available in 30ml and 100ml
Indications:
Osteoarthritis and joint/muscle pain
Ingredients:
Cats Claw (Uncaria tomentosa): A South American herb with claw-like barbs which allow the plant to climb. Shown to exert a potent anti-inflammatory effect, making it particularly useful in all joint and muscle pain.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Although famous for being one of the main ingredients of curry powder, Turmeric has a long history as a medicinal herb in Chinese and Indian medicine. Science has borne out its traditional use as an anti-inflammatory. The anti-inflammatory effect of Turmeric is mainly due to its major constituent, curcumin. Curcumin is a volatile oil which has been shown to exert an anti-inflammatory effect equal to cortisone and phenylbutazone, with none of the toxicity problems associated with these pharmaceutical drugs.
Boswellia (Boswellia serrata). Also known as Indian Frankincense. Research suggests that the potent antiinflammatory effect of Boswellia is more effective than phenylbutazone. Boswellia also improves blood supply to arthritic joints, thus effecting better and faster repair of damaged areas.
Huang Qin (Scutellaria biacalensis): Huang Qin has also been shown to be an effective antioxidant. This action is especially useful when you consider the detrimental role free radicals can play on inflammatory conditions.
Also recommended:
- Glucosamine Sulphate, an amino sugar which is one of the building blocks of cartilage.
- Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) exert a natural mild anti-inflammatory effect. They are also useful in removing toxins from the body.
- Large doses of vitamin C, 500-3000mg per day, Ester C being the preferred form.
- A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar per pint of drinking water.
- Vitamin B complex.
Directions & Dosage:
The suggested dose on the bottle gives a drop amount. Small dogs and cats should be given a dose around the lower figure, large dogs should be given a dose around the higher figure. Pigeons and aviary birds, use one drop per bird in drinking water. Because the combinations are in tincture, it is advisable to put drops into a little hot (not boiling) water and allow to cool before administrating. This allows the alcohol to evaporate off.
